LAS VEGAS, Nev. (January 24, 2022) – The first Hybrid Football Cheer National Championship took place on Saturday, January 15
th as cheerleaders from 5 different states added even more excitement to the Las Vegas Strip.
California, Las Vegas, Michigan, New York, and Texas were all represented over the weekend as teams brought their best moves. The event was held at the Rio Hotel and Casino in Las Vegas. 6 divisions competed across multiple age groups, including: 6u, 8u, 10u, 14u Stunt, 14u Non-Stunt, and a Dance Division.
The West Coast Football Cheer Executive Committee worked hard through many obstacles to make sure this event could take place and give the athletes competing an all-around Cheer experience. The committee members decided to go with a hybrid model to involve more programs so that they could compete by submitting their team’s video performance, making this the first ever Hybrid Football Cheer National Championship.
The schedule was split up into two sessions during the day. The Central Texas Junior Greywolves 8 and under division took home the Grand Champion trophy for Session 1. The Killeen Cove Chiefs 10 and under division took home the Grand Champion title for Session 2. The winners of each division included:
6U – CTX Junior Greywolves
8U – CTX Junior Greywolves
10U – Killeen Cove Chiefs
14U Stunt – Antelope Valley Colts
14U Non-Stunt – Central Texas Vipers
Dance – Elite Diamonds
