ORLANDO, Fla. (March 28, 2024) –
On the heels of Orlando being named the No. 1 Best Sports Business City for Attracting and Hosting Events, more than 2,500 volleyball athletes will be at the Orange County Convention Center this weekend to compete in the AAU Volleyball Classic, a precursor to this summer’s AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships.

From March 30-31, 172 teams will take to the courts, including 157 Florida teams. The rest of the teams are from Alabama, Massachusetts, Pennsylvania, and Texas, as well as Canada, Mexico, the Virgin Islands, and Peru.

There will be nine age groups, from 10 and under through 18U competing on 30 courts. The winning team in each division will receive a free or discounted entry to the 51st AAU Junior National Volleyball Championships – one of the largest volleyball tournaments in the world – at the Orange County Convention Center this June. “We’re happy to see how much the AAU Volleyball Classic has grown since its beginnings in 2000,” said Jo Mirza, AAU President. “We believe the level of quality competition we provide is only eclipsed by the welcoming environment created at our tournaments.”

This weekend’s event will take place in the West Concourse. Learn more at https://aauvolleyball.org/VolleyballClassic
