CNN’s “Champions for Change” series came to the AAU Junior Olympic Games to profile track coach Jean Bell and the Jeuness Track Club of New York -- the piece airs this week.

Producers of CNN’s “Champions for Change” series came to the 2022 AAU Junior Olympic Games in Greensboro to profile track coach Jean Bell and Jeuness Track Club of New York, a longtime AAU club member.

People may recognize the name – it’s the same track club and coach featured in the 2021 Netflix documentary, “Sisters on Track.” (The Sheppard sisters, AAU track and field members, were featured as
Sports Illustrated's SportKids of the Year in 2016.)

The episode is scheduled to run at the below days and times, barring breaking news:

Tuesday, September 20 at 1 p.m. (ET)
Friday, September 23 at 2 p.m. (ET)
Saturday, September 24 at 8 p.m. (ET)

The “Champions for Change” series shines a spotlight on innovators, changemakers and pioneers who challenge the status quo to improve the lives of others. Bell fits the mold perfectly – she mentors under-served girls on her team with the goal of getting them college scholarships.

CNN anchor, and former collegiate runner, Ana Cabrera will tell Bell's and Jeuness Track Club's story.

A snippet from CNN's promotion of the series says, "Jean Bell and her Jeuness Track Club are channeling girls’ energies, building self-confidence, and creating life-changing opportunities through the sport of running. Bell’s own running prowess led to a college scholarship. Today, when she’s not hearing cases as a courtroom judge, Bell presides trackside in the disadvantaged neighborhood where she grew up, mentoring girls to run against the wind."

We hope you all will tune in to listen to this wonderful story.
