07/26/2021

AAU Hockey is pleased to announce that Jon LaRochester has been appointed to the AAU National Ice Hockey Executive Committee in the role of College Hockey Director.

ORLANDO, Fla. - On behalf of AAU President Rusty Buchanan, the National Officers, National Staff and the AAU Ice Hockey Committee, and AAU National Hockey Chair Keith Noll, AAU Hockey is pleased to announce that Jon LaRochester has been appointed to the AAU National Ice Hockey Executive Committee in the role of College Hockey Director.

Jon LaRochester has 23 years in public education and a role as a high school principal, along with a 26-year career in coaching of which the last 13 have been at the college level.

In addition to the Executive committee appointment, LaRochester has served as the Director of Hockey Operations for the CHF, reaching 17 states and growing in regard to the CHF AAU affiliation.

The CHF was started in July of 2019 by five individuals with long histories in the sport as players, coaches, and administrators across many youth and collegiate programs - and was designed and built “fit for purpose” to offer college student-athletes an alternative option to participate in a better club hockey experience than currently offered by others.

The inaugural CHF season was kicked off in September 2019 with over 80 collegiate programs in three conferences covering Upper New York State, New England, Long Island, and Mid-Atlantic states.

With the recent addition of the SECHC, SCHC, and ACC DIII programs to complement CHF’s inaugural conferences which include the UNYCHL, DVCHC, and Empire, their coverage across DII and DIII now spans the majority of the east coast.

The CHF now anticipates its third season with the AAU and is excited about the growth to come.
