The AAU National Gymnastics program would like to recognize the generous support to the AAU Gymnastics program

ORLANDO, Fla - The AAU National Gymnastics program would like to recognize the generous support to the AAU Gymnastics program by the Cleveland Swiss Turners.

The Cleveland Swiss Turners organization was founded on the 11th of October 1891 as the "Schwerizer Turn Verein Cleveland", more commonly known as the Cleveland Swiss Turners.   Their mission then and now was to promote the sport of amateur gymnastics throughout the United States.

Historically, the Cleveland Swiss Turners have produced numerous national champions in different categories and have been namedg the team champion of the Swiss American Gymnastics Association.

Swiss Turners were fortunate to have their own gym at the Swiss Hall in Cleveland, Ohio for many years where they offered classes for boys and girls.

In the early 1980's the Swiss Hall was sold putting an end to the Swiss turneys training gymnasts as the facility.

However, the Cleveland Swiss Turners are still active in promoting the sport of gymnastics. They have sponsored many gymnastics meets throughout the subsequent years.  Recently, the Swiss Turners organization voted unanimously to inspire the youth/young adult gymnasts through support of the AAU Gymnastics Scholarships program.

AAU Gymnastics thanks the Cleveland Swiss Turners for their continued impact on the sport of Gymnastics and support of AAU.
