AVCA Announces 2019 Under Armour Girls High School All-Americans

AAU Volleyball members make up 82% of this year’s AVCA Under Armour Girls High School All-Americans and Honorable Mention All-Americans.

LEXINGTON, Ky. – (November 6, 2019) - The American Volleyball Coaches Association (AVCA) is proud to announce the 14th annual Under Armour Girls High School All-America Teams.
 
A record 894 nominations were submitted through the AVCA and MaxPreps, resulting in 150 All-America and Honorable Mention All-Americans. Many already committed to play collegiate volleyball at some of the top schools in the country.
 
AAU members made up 123 of those 150 spots. 19 players from AAU were select to First Team All-American, 19 were selected to Second Team, 20 to Third and 65 received Honorable Mention.
 
Requirements for nomination were that the student-athlete be in her senior year of high school, that she be nominated by her high school coach, that her coach be a member of the AVCA and that her individual season statistics versus all opponents for the entire season be entered into MaxPreps, a free service that aggregates and distributes data on high school sports.
 
Each of the players on the First-Team will be invited to play in the Under Armour All-America Volleyball Match. It will be played on December 31 at the ESPN Wide World of Sports Complex at Walt Disney World (Orlando, Fla.) at 7 p.m. ET.
